Undergraduate students in the BSc in Chemistry and Biological Chemistry programme may opt to pursue a concentration in one area of study. At graduation, the School will issue a certificate acknowledging completion of the concentration. There are two available concentrations: Medicinal Chemistry, and Food Science and Technology.

Concentration in Medicinal Chemistry

In this concentration, students explore the interface between chemistry and biology, including exciting topics such as synthetic chemistry, molecular modeling, computational biology, structural genomics, and pharmacology. The skills learned in these courses are applicable to the design and discovery of new pharmaceuticals, and are very useful for students intending to pursue a career in the pharmaceutical industry.
