Professor / Associate Professor Position in Applied Geometry

The Division of Mathematical Sciences at NTU invites applications for a position at the rank of Professor or Associate Professor in Applied Geometry. We are looking for an outstanding senior researcher who is able to lead the research group in Applied Geometry the Division is aiming to build up. This group is envisioned to employ methods from Differential Geometry, Symplectic Geometry, and Dynamical Systems to problems in Mechanical Control, Robotics, and Visual Computing. NTU provides a rich environment for interdisciplinary collaborations in these areas, including the Robotics Research Centre and Fraunhofer Singapore.

We are looking for candidates with Ph.D. degrees in Applied Mathematics or closely related fields. Researchers with interests in

  • Symplectic Geometry
  • Geometric Mechanics
  • Mathematical foundations for control of mechanical systems
  • Geometric modelling and simulation with applications to computer graphics

are especially encouraged to apply. Researchers with different interests in Applied Geometry, however, will also be considered.

Open Rank Faculty Positions in Data Science/Computational and Applied Statistics

The Division of Mathematical Sciences at NTU invites applications for positions at the rank of Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor in Data Science/Computational and Applied Statistics. These positions are part of a multi-year cluster hire aimed at building up an interdisciplinary research group employing methods from Computational Mathematics and Statistics to disciplines such as Biomedicine, Finance, and Earth Sciences.

There is a rich mix of ongoing research projects at NTU in the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Asian School of the Environment, School of Biological Sciences, and the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, providing motivation and opportunities for the development of novel statistical and computational methods in a wide range of areas. Successful candidates are expected to contribute to the collaboration between the above mentioned schools.

We are looking for candidates with experience in interdisciplinary research holding a PhD degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Biostatistics, or closely-related fields. We are specifically interested in expertise in the following areas:

  • Statistical modeling and simulation
  • Computational Bayesian statistics
  • High-dimensional data
  • Data mining and machine learning
  • Biostatistics

Open Rank Professor Position in Financial Technology

The School of Physical & Mathematical Sciences (SPMS) and the Wealth Management Institute (WMI) at NTU invite applications for a position at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor in Financial Technology. The primary appointment will be in the Division of Mathematical Sciences (MAS) at SPMS, with a joint appointment at WMI. Successful candidates are expected to contribute to the collaboration between MAS and WMI; particularly in the development of the Master in Financial Technology programme, as well as the Minor in Finance for undergraduate students in Mathematical Sciences.

We are looking for candidates with PhD degrees in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or closely related fields. We are specifically looking for expertise in the following areas:

  • Algorithmic trading
  • Risk management and regulation technology
  • Machine learning and AI
  • Big data analytics and business intelligence
  • Financial security and compliance

Applicants must have a strong commitment to excellence in research and teaching and should have significant publications in top-tier computer science, statistics, or finance journals.
