The School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences is home to many internationally renowned research groups pursuing cutting-edge research in numerous areas of chemistry, the mathematical sciences, and physics. Over the five years from 2013 to 2017, we published over 3,300 research papers and proceedings (approximately 650 per year), and attracted over S$140M of competitive research funding. Our faculty includes 5 current NRF Fellows (recipients of the prestigious NRF Fellowship for early-career researchers), 4 NRF Investigators (recipients of the NRF Investigatorship for established researchers undertaking high-profile, ground-breaking research programmes), and over 15 Nanyang Assistant Professors.
Our School also hosts two specialized research institutes: the Centre for Disruptive Photonic Technologies and the Centre for High Resolution Instruments for Science.
