Terahertz Spectroscopy and metamaterial studies
Piyush Agarwal earned his integrated Bachelors and Masters degree in Physics from IISER Bhopal, India (2011-2016). His master's thesis included material characterization of various correlated materials using terahertz spectroscopic technique where he co-authored 7 articles in international journals while working from 2015-2017. He also has a decent experience in interfacing instruments and has fabricated a reflection based THz spectrometer along with various stand-alone tools to facilitate THz analysis. After his Masters, he continued as a project student for an year in IISER Bhopal and interfaced a magnetic cryostat with source meters to perform various standard DC and dielectric measurements to meet many state-of-the-art capabilities. In February 2018, he moved to CDPT, NTU, as a Project Officer and is currently focussing on fabricating a higher bandwidth terahertz setup along with metamaterial studies.
